Infusion/Oncology Program

Our Infusion/Oncology program is led by a masters prepared Oncology Specialty Clinician. Our staff attends advanced IV education as well as the Foundations to Oncology, Comprehensive Chemotherapy and Stem Cell transplant classes at UPMC Cancer Centers.

High tech services for both adult and pediatrics include:

  • IV fluids as well as antibiotic, antifungal and antiviral therapy
  • Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
  • Insertion/maintenance of a peripheral line for administration of IV medications, e.g. Solu-Medrol.
  • Inotropic agents in the home e.g. Dobutamine, Milrinone, Flolan, Remodulin, including subcutaneous infusions
  • Cath Flo Activase
  • Blood product derivatives e.g. Factor 8, albumin
  • Clinical trials including investigational drugs and chemotherapy
  • IV pain management e.g. IV Morphine infusion, PCA pump, including subcutaneous infusions
  • Enzyme replacement therapy such as Prolastin, Zemaira, Fabrazyme
  • Chemotherapy infusion at home
  • Plasmapheresis catheter care
